Paracetamol is an analgesic (Pain killer) and antipyretic (Reduce temperature) drug.Fever & pain (pain due to trauma, intestinal inflammation,

post-partum pain, post-operative pain) and tissue swollen resulting from trauma, injury, burn or any other infectious diseases of both animal & poultry.Fever and pain caused by vaccination, debeaking, or other infectious diseases are treated as supportive therapy.

Administration
Paracetamol tablets or liquid can be administered orally . Tablets can be crushed and mixed with food or given directly, whereas liquids can be administered via syringe or dropper. In some cases, a veterinarian may administer paracetamol through injection. This is usually done for animal & poultry that are unable to take oral medication.
Dose
Bolus: Cattle: 1 bolus/130-140 kg body weight thrice daily for 3 days. Poultry: 1 bolus/10-litre drinking water and administered 2-3 times daily for 4-5 days. Powder for Solution: Poultry: 1 g/2-3 L drinking water 2-3 times daily for 4-5 days. Livestock: 4 g/130-140 kg body weight thrice daily for 3 days. Or, as directed by the veterinary physician.
Mode of Action
Paracetamol exhibits analgesic action by peripheral blockage of pain impulse generation. It produces antipyresis by inhibiting the hypothalamic heat-regulating centre. Its weak anti-inflammatory activity is related to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the CNS.

Paracetamol bolus should be administered with caution in animals with renal or hepatic impairment.
Precautions
Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. Do not exceed the recommended dosage, as doing so increases the risk of side effects.
