Acicef-3 2gm Vet Injection

Acicef-3 2gm Vet Injection is a veterinary antibiotic formulation containing Ceftriaxone Sodium, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of bacterial pathogens. It is commonly used to treat various bacterial infections in animals.

Presentation:

• Strength: 2 grams of Ceftriaxone Sodium per vial.

Indications: Acicef-3 is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in animals, including:

• Pneumonia
• Mastitis
• Metritis
• Septicemia
• Meningitis
• Anthrax
• Foot rot
• Skin infections
• Joint infections

Dosage and Administration:

• Cattle and Buffalo:
  • Administer 1 ml per 23 kg of body weight, or use one 1 gm vial per 100 kg body weight, once or twice daily for 3-5 days.
• Sheep and Goats:
  • Administer 1 ml per 11 kg body weight, or use one 0.5 gm vial per 25 kg body weight, twice daily for 3-5 days.
• Horses:
  • Administer 1 ml per 8 kg body weight, or use one 1 gm vial per 40 kg body weight, twice daily for 3-5 days.
• Dogs and Cats:
  • Administer 1 ml per 10 kg body weight, or use one 0.5 gm vial per 20 kg body weight, once or twice daily for 3-5 days.

Reconstitution:

• Intramuscular Injection:
  • Add 7 ml of 1% Lidocaine Hydrochloride injection to the 2 gm Acicef-3 vial. Shake well until the powder is completely dissolved.
• Intravenous Injection:
  • Add 20 ml of Water for Injection BP to the 2 gm Acicef-3 vial. Shake well until the powder is completely dissolved.

Storage Recommendations:

• Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
• Keep the container tightly closed when not in use.
• Use the reconstituted solution promptly. If storage is necessary, it maintains potency for at least 6 hours at room temperature or 24 hours at 5°C.
